i was always told that cold drinks will cause more cramping, because cold constricts the blood vessels. warm fluids always made my cramps resolve sooner. try that.

The girl above me is wrong! If cold incressed cramping that would mean throughout the winter time our crampings would be worse then any other season. And during the summer you will be a mighty thirsty person if you cant drink any cold water especially if you live in Sacramento and Texes and Arizona. Forget about what your here from other people. Go on the internet and find it out for yourself. If you cant find it on the internet ask a doctor, nurse or health teacher. If they dont know or each of them are giving you weird answers or your still confused then maybe its not true. Rather it's true or not just do the norm. Which is take warm baths, excersize weather you feel like to or not. Take pamperine and etc.

Thats bull. When you have your period it is a way for your body to wash it out basically. So bleeding is healthy when it comes to periods. Keep yourself healthy eat all you want and drink all you want especially when your having a period..fluids is a must..Organge Juice definitely lots of it. Did you know that it takes two months to replace lost red blood cells? This is why women fell tired whuile on her period. She doesn't lose a great deal of blood or she would be dead, but she loses enough that her body has to replace those red blod cells and that is why a good healthy female should drink lots of fluids all the time not just because she is on her period.

Maybe because the cold could give you muscle cramps. I can't think of any logical reason why this would be a serious thing. I have had ice cream every period since I was 11 and I haven't died yet. 17 years later....

This is a myth, and is not true at all. You can eat and drink cold things while on your period. There is no medical evidence to prove that you should not eat or drink anything cold while menstruating.

I have never heard that before. It's probably an old wives tale. I've certainly eaten cold foods during my period and nothing has happened to me.

According to Chinese Medicine ingesting cold food in general is bad for you as your stomach need to stay at 100 degrees on regular basis to maintain optimum efficiency i do no excessive cold can increase cramping while heat soothes it away from my own personal experience

Your friend made it up or got wierd information. There are a lot of myths about periods. Do everything you normally do. My teacher told me (Grade 7) never to swim when you had your period or it would stop forever! Now that's a load of crap. There are no restrictions...
