Our air conditioner had an overflow problem that seeped into the next room, creating an odor like cat spray. It's slowly drying but the odor still lingers. Any suggestions?

you can put white vinegar on it and then blot it up, but you can also just put a bowl of white vinegar somewhere in the room near the origin of the smell. the vinegar odor will dissipate in a little while and you won't smell it or the other odor.

Try shampooing the carpet and putting some vinegar in with the water. Also another thing you can try (worked on getting stinky feet odor out of my carpets) put that "Febreeze Laundry Odor Eliminator" in with the carpet shampoo when you shampoo the carpet.

Did you treat the pad underneath? Could it be the previous residents had a cat? You may need to seal the concrete and replace the pad. If the carpet smells of this, I would suggest teh carpet man and tell him you need a pet treatment ONLY IN 1 AREA! Not to pad the bill.

If you have a whole house fan, turn it on and open a door or window on at least 2 sides of the room. There's nothing better than fresh air.

first use a citrus based cleaner. Cats dont like citrus and won't pee in the same spot. Vinegar is worse becuase it will retain the smell and the cat will come back. Always use cold water (very very cold) and not warm or hot.
