6x+2 = 2(x-5)/3
6x+2 = (2x-10)/3
18x+6 = 2x-10
18x+6 = 2x-10
18x-2x = -6-10
16x = -16
x = -1

Proof:
-6+2 = -12/3
-4 = -4

first multiply both sides by 3 to get rid of the fraction on the right side
3(6x + 2) = 2(x - 5)
18x + 6 = 2x - 10
next get like terms on the same side
so subtract 6 from both sides to get the real numbers to the right and subtract 2x from both sides to get the variables on the left
18x - 2x + 6 - 6 = 2x - 2x - 10 - 6
16x = -16
now divide both sides by 16
x = -1

CROSS MULTIPLY!
6x+2/1 = 2x-10/3

Top times bottom over bottom times top

3(6x+2)/1(2x-10)

Simplify

(18x+6)/(2x-10)

Reduce
2(9x+3)/2(x-5)

Cancel 2's and reduce again or dont, so:
the answer is:
(9x+3)/(x-5) OR 3(3x+1)/(x=5)

doesnt math stink!
