I think he is a fantastic actor, regardless of his personal life. Mission Impossible 3 was crazy! He did all his own stunts. Anyway, his personal life might be a little whacky but who are we to judge that. We only know him in the first place because he is an actor. When you are his buddy, then you can judge him personally. The media makes the public think that they know about Tom's personal life. In reality, the public has no say in his marriage, religion and friends. I like him as an actor, but honestly, don't know him as a person.

Still like him? I like him better!
I'm no Scientologist (it's the Xenu alien earth building stuff that throws me off), but I respect the guy fro not being a wuss. He's a Scientologicst, and he's not going to whimp out and pretend he isn't. Also, he finally spoke up against this medicated society, where everyone feels like they need to be on drugs.
Post-pardom depression is a joke anyway, and it's nice that someone else out there would say that. In today's world, it's like being a Nazi to call some great "women's issue" exactly what it is: bs, but Tom Cruise stood up like a brave man and said what he believed. Winner: Tom.
Then, they gave him a bunch of crap about dating Katie Holmes because she's a "kid", ignoring the fact that Katie Holmes is a grown woman and is perfectly capable of making her own decisions. He didn't rape her for God's sake. Tom told them to get lost. Winner: Tom.
Then, they complain about him not showing his kids to the media, like they've got some right to take pictures of his CHILDREN. Tom is the man! Winner: Tom.
Mission: Impossible III was an excellent movie. Winner: Tom.
It's all there, clear as crystal. Tom Cruise is better than ever.

I liked Tom Cruise in the past. Not as a person but I thought he was a great actor. After all this stuff with baby Suri and Katie Holmes and his Scientology I think he is crazy. I don't really like him anymore and I didn't go to see Mission Impossible 3. He's so weird now. He won't let anyone see pictures of his daughter. Does she even exist? He keeps Katie in the house and tells her what to do. He told her she couldn't make any noise while giving birth. That was ridiculous! He even told her he doesn't like the name Katie because it sounds childish and he wants everyone to call her Kate. I don't know how Nicole Kidman stayed with him for so long!

No, I don't like him any longer. As far as I'm concerned he put on a "GREAT BIG FINALE" for me on the Oprah show.
I think it was for personal gain for three different reasons:
1)he had a movie coming out
2)Katie had a movie coming out
3) he could rub it in Nicole Kidman's face.
If that little Suri was such a big deal to him, then why isn't he boasting about the other 2 he already has with Nicole? I'm sure they're feelings are very hurt!
Nicole won the TomKat fight tho'....very silently and respectfully in my opinion, by marrying Keith Urban! Go Nicole!
In fact, I respect her now and I never cared for her in the past.

I don't like his movies anymore - I thought Magnolia was really wierd and I just don't get what he's doing. The whole Scientology thing is none of my business, and doesn't have anything to do with it. It's just that now when I see that Tom Cruise is in a movie, I don't say, "Hey, great!" anymore, I say "Oh...that's gonna be a wierd one."

Personally? I think that he is off the charts whacked...but look at the life he has lived and never a moment of privacy without coming off as totally nutso. As an actor, he is maturing. He was wonderful in 'The Last Samurai.' there is still hope.

I lost all respect for him after his rant about mental illness. I take antidepressants and function MUCH better than I ever thought possible. I was disgusted by how "in your face" he was with the whole relationship with Katie. It all felt so fake and forced. Then she got pregnant and we had that thrown in our faces everytime we turned around. (by the way Mr. Christian Scientist, shouldn't you MARRY the girl if you get her pregnant? Heaven forbid we should not be having sex before marriage. Don't take a pill to make yourself feel better, but publicly fornicate!) Then, when people might be interested in seeing the baby, he turns even MORE selfish and says, "No". I have no desire to see any movie he, or Katie for that matter, have anything to do with.

I still think he has potential as an actor, although I don't care for Scientology one whit. I think he's "programmed" like a cult member, and it's just a shame.
I watched him progress in his career and enjoyed the "depth" he was finally able to bring to his characters after "The Color of Money" He was outstanding in "Jerry McGuire" and "Minority Report" was a noble effort.
I wish he could break free of Scientology but I really don't think it's likely...I'd still pay to see him in something if it was really good.

No I don't. The reason why is because he is to controlling of Katie Holmes. He didn't let her have a role because he didn't approve of the role. Also, he didn't even let her scream while she was in labor. Scientology's are just really crazy people. I don't like him at all. I used to, but now he's being awful. No, I don't like him.
