go up to him, say hi. start a small convo then ask if he'd liek to go to the dance with you. simple as that if he says no, he says no. dont get down just move along to the next hottie on your list hehe.

We'll assume you aren't going to ask a total stranger, so the next time you're talking to him, just mention that there is a great dance coming up and you'd really like to go. Is he free that night? If he says yes, give him a big hug and say 'Great!' If he says no, bat your eyes and say, "Oh darn. Maybe next time."
Then ask someone else.

say "DO YOU WANT TO GO TO THE DANCE?" Dont stutter though. Dont yell, just ask him. He will either say yes, or he will say no. Be prepared for either answer. Dont be shy. You dont even need to practice saying it. Its not hard unless you speak a different language. Then you can say "tu comeo dos el danceo?" or something like that.

Try this, "hey, would you like to go to the dance Saturday?" He will either say yes or no and you will either get the real thing or be left to play with your pocket rocket!

Chances are he wants to go with you too especially if he knows your interested. Just go and ask him. The worst he can say is no, if he does, so what, at least you tried. You'll regret it more if you dont ask him. Good luck!

Don't build it up to be one of the three significant signposts in your life. Strike up a conversation. And just ask him if he's going and who with. If he doesn't know or has no one.. then ask him if he'd like to go with you. In general, guys are good with straightforward questions.
