I think there are various ways to define those:

A village is a human residential settlement commonly found in rural areas. It is usually smaller than a town or city.

A city is an urban area that is differentiated from a town, village, or hamlet by size, population density, importance, or legal status.

A town is a residential community of people ranging from a few hundred to several thousands, although it may be applied loosely even to huge metropolitan areas. Generally, a "town" is thought of as larger than a village but smaller than a "city."

A borough is an administrative division used in various countries. Usually a borough is a single incorporated town, but certain large city corporations or municipalities are subdivided into boroughs.

The term township is used to denote a lower level territorial subdivision. Townships exist in Canada, China, South Africa, and the United States of America.

A tribe, viewed historically or developmentally, consists of a social group existing before the development of, or outside of, states,

A military base is a reservation, facility, or installation that shelters military equipment and personnel, and facilitates training and operations.

I live in a city myself.

I live in a town that people think is a city but it only has 530,000 people. Now NY or L.A. or Pheonix - those are cities with populations in the millions.

I used to live on a reservation and a military base when I was younger.
