Before I answer Your question, I would like to know why is this question in the LGBT?

Now to answer...
I LOVE country music and its derivitives.
I enjoy everything from Hank Sr. To Hank III, Lynryd Skynyrd to Lori Morgan.
As long as the vocals are understandable and the instrumentation is not muddled together such as with Nirvana and the grunge scene.
My favorite artist would be Merle Haggard followed VERY closely by Don Williams.
My favorite female artist would have to be Dolly Parton followed by JoDee Mesina.
It would be easier to name who I don't enjoy in country music.
Primarily: Big and Rich and Cowboy Troy...
While I do like B/R's 8th of November because of the soul behind the singing, I have not heard anything of Cowboy Troy that I like yet. I really wish he would do something COUNTRY
If he doesn't know what that means, he should go listen to Charlie Pride.
Charlie's music is absolutely country and I love to hear ANYTHING by Charlie.
I wish/hope that Cowboy Troy could read this. He has a good voice, but for both B/R and C.T. rap is rap and Country is Country. Don't "yoke" a mule and an ox to the same plow!

I'm a gay blk male that has recently purchased a couple of country cds of two guys I really like Tim Mcgraw( LOVE HIM ) and Billy Currington ( a good ole Georgia Boy) No disrespect! But I like their music enough to support their music

I like different ones for different reasons. Tim McGraw, (very obviously why...) oh, yeah, and Faith Hill. Plus, I too like some of the artists that have been around for a while, like Dolly Parton, and don't forget Sylvia. Really liked her.

all time fave dolly parton, she just keeps getting better. i also love phil vassar, montgomery gentry, reba, sugarland, lee ann rimes, dierks bentley, chris cagle, keith urban, and tanya tucker
