Unfortunately you only gain the benefit of shares in a growing internet company.

Similarly you don't get cheaper phone calls by having shares with BT, etc.

What you should gain is a voice. If sufficient share holders feel that Pipex is charging too much for its service they can get together and apply pressure to Pipex to change their business practices.
