In-home would be great, but I'm also looking for a GOOD PRICE. I believe I have a vicious virus on my hands.

Update: My symptoms are that my Dell freezes up just a minute or two after startup and then won't back on. After some time and a few more attempts, it does startup slowly only to freeze up again.

Call geeksquad. Prices are fair and they really fix your problem not just cover it up. geeksquad.com

You could always call me. Depending on the situation, I charge between 10$ to 40$s per PC.

Okay, you can always go call up Geek Squad, technical support, and what not. But I think your best bet is to find the local high school and ask around for Computer Club. They'll usually have people who can fix your computer at a very resonable price (sometimes none).

In home is expensive. I took my computer to CompUSA. It cost me around $100 to have them do a full diagnostic test and fix the problem.
Turns out they had to completely remove everything and re-install Windows XP. We had put XP in over ME and you can't do that with some computers.....Mine works great. Like a new computer. It took them a few days....., but it was worth it. They ran it through tons of test. They do the Virus Check and removal---you can look on the web site for the prices--I think...Not sure if they post them.

Try and download a free trial of an excellent program that is called Advanced System Optimizer. Do a search on Google for it.
After you run the registry tune up I'm pretty sure it won't crash anymore now. Mine was crashing all the time and that program is MIRACULOUS! That will save you money , too.

Find a 10 yr kid/neighbor. It'll be better and more efficient than the $100/hr geek squad. All you have to do for the kid is buy him a pizza or give him a $20 and it's over with.

Find a friend who knows something about viruses. I got a friend whose in geeksquad and wants me to go apply for them.

Let them see what they can do before you spend money in a professional that might reformat your computer and not back up your data first.

What are the symptoms of the problem?

If there is a local computer shop in your city that does repairs and the such (I work at one), that would probably be the fastest and cheapest way to get your computer fixed. If you want to do it yourself, there are plenty of technical forums on the net that are very helpful.
