The most controversial solution is to overturn Roe V Wade.

What other solutions are you willing to accept short of overturning Roe V Wade. What solutions are you willing to provide for these women to stop using abortion as the solution?

What about stronger legislation and regulation of adoption? An education campaign about adoption would be good too since I don't know many Christians who are willing to adopt these "crack, aids, etc." babies they are trying to save...

I am a Christian and I know that abortions will continue albiet if they are illegal they will be more dangerous and I definitely don't want that.

I think abortion is a tough issue and that the individual should have the right to choose -- they are accountable to God for their decision but they need accurate information about the risks, the mental/emotional and even physical damage it causes, that it is a child that they are killing and not "tissue".

I used to work in a pregnancy center and was amazed at how many people would rather terminate their pregnancy than give their child up for adoption.

I think the killing of innocent life is wrong in theory, but who will take care of these precious gifts of God if abortion is illegal?

I don't believe that it is merely sperm and an egg that makes life because I believe that every person has a soul so God has to be in the creation of life and He has a purpose for everything He creates.

This is a problem that needs to have the emotion taken out of it and some logic applied by people who know what it is like to be poor, addicted, young, and all the other circumstances related to why people get abortions. It's a problem with society -- a moral issue instead of a legal one. We don't live in utopia, we live in a society of man-made institutions which are here to maintain safety and order, not legislate morality per se.

I disagree with abortion but realize the issue is very complex and am frustrated by the vocality of people about the issue who don't really know who they are talking about and aren't willing to adopt the children that are aborted.

Overturning Roe v. Wade won't stop abortions, they happened before it was legalized anyway. The only way to stop abortions is to stop unwanted pregnancies. The absolute only way to do that is not to have sex, so to start with teaching the value and viability of abstinence would be a good start. Incorporating that as a lifestyle choice in sex education would be wise. Humans being what they are though, you will never get to a point where abstinance is the only form of birth control needed. We just can't shut off our drive to procreate.

Abortion Solution!
1) Stop making unmarried mothers-to-be feel ashamed. It's one of the main reasons single pregnant women have an abortion.
2) Make adoption an easy alternative. I wonder how many pregnant women realize how much joy and love an adopted child gives to adoptive parents. If I could have a little girl right now, I would be so happy.

Well, I am not totally anti-abortion. I do believe that are certain times when abortion is okay.

-when there is a rape (especially incest). Many times when the people with similar DNA reproduce there are irreversible defects in the child. And if I were in that situation I don't know if I would be able to carry a child for 9 months knowing that it was a product of rape or incest.

-when the mother is at risk for dying if she continues to carry the baby.

Those are the only 2 cases that I would condone abortions, however each case is different. I am a firm believer that there are other alternatives out there. One of the most precious one being adoption.
I don't think that abortions should be used as a method of birth control (which unfortunately it is). If you are old enough (or think you are old enough) to lay down and have sex, then you are old enough to take on all the responsibilities of your actions.

legal solutions that are good stop-gap measures are parental notification laws for minors, 24 hour waiting periods, mandatory counseling on alternatives, all of which have been approved by the Supreme Court.

I think there should be a great increase in pregnancy and adoption counseling. I can't imagine the panic that a woman must feel when she first finds out that she is carrying an unplanned or unwanted child. There simply have to be sufficient resources to help the woman through that difficult time.

I agree abortion is a last resort solution after all other methods have failed. But you have to realize people are dumb. People today expect the police and threat of jail to protect their kids form harm, but instead they should be teaching their kids to watch out for themselves. As far as I know, no man can be expected to control himself when a nice piece of *** is sitting there ready and willing, no matter if she's drunk, stoned or just horny and dumb. It's up to parents to keep their daughters home at night, out of guys' reach, and on birth control pills.

But when all else fails abortion is best solution to prevent two messed up lives vs. none at all and hopefully a valuable lesson learned. Adoption will ruin both your body and your mind, take 9 months of your life away, and the life of the child given up will never be happy or healthy. The abandonment sticks throughout their lives leading to a sick dependent personality, confusion, and mental illness.

I should know I was adopted.

i'd not call myself an atheist, yet i do no longer enroll in any of the major religions. i wager i might want to call myself 'religious'. That being reported, I strongly oppose abortion on grounds which have surely no longer something to do with my 'spirituality'. My oppositions comes from the organic and organic undeniable actuality that once about the 2d month, a fetus' anxious equipment is very just about comprehensive and the approach of abortion actually rips that residing, FEELING individual aside. you would listen them scream in the journey that they weren't in a liquid environment. And, in case you concentration on the very undeniable actuality that abortion is felony and executed at ANY degree of being pregnant, as a lot as and inclusive of the point of start, any rational individual might want to ought to agree that it really is an really horrendous and barbaric prepare. As for 'freedom hating', i have were given to inform you that no longer something deprives a persons' freedom more desirable than lack of life, rather at the same time as that lack of life actually comprises the act of being drawn and quartered without the great factor about anesthesia. All so as that the mum, whose irresponsibility performed a serious function in the introduction of this individual, does no longer ought to handle the inconvenience of her and her boyfriend's moves. Yeah, you're a real enlightened dude. yet sturdy question, desire that permits.

There are so many options for women in regards to birth control. If they don't want to get pregnant, they can use the pill, the shot, iud, etc - they can even use condoms. Unfortunatley, for whatever reason, many women just don't care and don't use anything. We can't force people to be smart and use birth control. Until they realize abortion isn't an option, nothing is going to change and abortion will still be a method of birth control.

Disagree. Teaching kids from early ages Christian values - what is right and wrong is the most controversial solution - and also the hardest to implement. Overturn RVW and you have bathroom massacres. Believe me, I am not a fan of RVW. But that's the reality.

There is a list of people a mile long who are waiting to adopt a child. I don't suggest making an incentive for this, because then people will just become baby factories and try to make money that way. It's terribly naive to believe that people will be more responsible in their sex life, but hey, "be more responsible in your sex life".
