First of all. I would like to indicate that no this question has nothing to do with me personally, so please don't answer with rubbish like "be what you want to be" and stuff.

I was merley pondering on this phrase which I hear alot which is "you dress like a s**t, you get treated like one" and it got me thinking as to why even if one is say labelled s**t or sexually promiscious (I use the former because it is easier to spell) are they in anyway treated any differently to anyone else?

I mean whatever happened to treating people the way you would want to be treated?

I dunno... anyone have an opinion?

P.S this really isn't soley bound to people who like to sleep around.

Your right. I might not be be mature enough. That is why I ask the question in the first place to learn from my betters (such as yourself) Although I fail to see how the level of my maturity has any basis in determining the accuracy of the answers I recieve but then again I AM IMMATURE.

sadly we are shaped into what society wants us to be shaped like. im pretty sure maybe in the far far future if you wore a tux u might be labeled as a slut or whatever u call males. thats the same thing as going to the past. As the current society change trends in style, fashion, right/wrong, etc changes with it too. maybe in 20yrs all people will be dressing like those current sluts. or whatever.

also what is considered a slut in the past is different then what is considered now. even in the future slut might have a totally different image.

If you have to ask, you really are not mature enough to be getting an accurate answer.

All societies have norms. These norms change constantly, and some are stupid, and go away, and some are important, and hang around for years. By the time you really know which ones were stupid and which ones were needed, you are too old to care anyway.

If the word has a negative connotation to you, then being labeled as such would be bad. If the word is neutral or good in your opinion, then what does it matter what other people say? That is how norms get changed, by derogatory phrases loosing their effectiveness. If someone called me a square, why would I care. That is no longer part of the norms of the society that I live in now.

People will be known by the fruits they bear. This goes for their clothes too. If you are wearing an upside down cross, I don't want to be around you, because by wearing that, you are sending the message, without saying a word, that you are a devil worshiper. If you are dirty, smelly and unkempt, don't expect anyone to hire you, because if you can't care for yourself, you surely won't care for any job.
It's the same with promiscuous clothing. If you are dressing like a streetwalker, that's what people will think you are.

well I think sluts get treated nicer when people arent looking the guys want to get on a sluts good side they may talk about them to others but any ho' I knew got what they wanted. In fact they get treated nicer because they are giving up what dudes want.I think sluts are a guys best friend.

If you're going to expose your body, then don't be offended when people comment on it. Other than that, I really don't care how people dress.

Because they don't demand respect. If you don't demand respect and you disrespect yourself - no one else will respect you.
