Why is spike a racist? because he started out doing predominantly black films?!

I think most people forget that he directed "Summer of Sam" about the son of sam murders, starring Mira Sorvino & John Leguizamo AND He also directed the "25th Hour" which starred Edward Norton and then he got backlash from african americans saying that he sold out. No matter what he does, he gets criticized from both sides.

The man is a filmmaker and a talented one. He's not out there trying to be popular, he's known for his controversy and making people take a hard look at what they're uncomfortable with. If he does a documentary on Katrina, then I think he'll do his best to outline all suffering and also bring to light those aspects which the media chose not too. Unfortunately, whenever Spike's name is involved, there is immediate skeptisim and that is really unfair. Why don't you judge his body of work after it's done, rather than knocking it so early in the game.

Spike Lee would never glorify any race but his own. He's the biggest racist I know. Whenever I see "A Spike Lee Joint" I know thats one movie you can count me out of. If a white man did that all hell would break loose, and he'd be the biggest redneck in the world.....but when Spike does it, its labeled "stunning", "beautiful", and all that other BS. White people should pitch a fit and start hollering reverse racism......but most of us have way too much class for that. If i offended anyone....WHO CARES???? LOL

I think most of it will be one sided as is his other work but I also think we might see a new side of Spike because many white people suffered as much as African Americans did.

Are you serious? It's going to be all one-sided, and I seriously doubt it will show anything about how it affected white people. Spike Lee is someone who speaks out against prejudice, yet he is prejudiced, himself.

no he will spend all of his time covering the 9th ward the worst part of N.O. that was a disaster before the storm. What he wont show is the thousands of white people living in fema trailers working hard to survive unlike those just standing around waiting for handouts

I think his documentary will be based on a lot of what was NOT shown in the news/media.

I am sure that his documentary will be based on those who were willing to partake in this film. Of course it will mostly be blacks in this film, he is black. Maybe some of the white people did not feel comfortable partaking in a black mans film? Maybe the blacks felt more comfortable that he is black? Maybe some white people did not mind that he was black? Maybe some black people feel he is racist and did not want anything to do with his film? Maybe it was hard for him to find white people who were willing to be apart of his film? So on and so forth.

My point is.... It is never good to judge people. Quit jumping to conclusions unless you know the facts and know them thoroughly.

Probably as much of a chance that Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton will ever address a white man's problem.

Yes, though he may show a few. He has made some good movies, I loved Summer of Sam, but I think he is a racist little weazel.
