Is it true you are not supposed to work in your garden or flower beds while pregnant? I love to work in my yard cutting grass, tend to my garden and planting my flowers. Why is it said you shouldn't do these things?

It depends on what type of area. Some animals use gardens for their place to poop. You have to be careful because of toxicplasmosis (sp?). Use gloves and thoroughly wash your hands afterwards. Discuss it with your doctor.

Never heard of this. I know people that play Vollyball, go to the gym, etc. while pregnant. So doing some flowers I can't see how it can hurt. As long as you can get up and down easily. Ask your doctor.

If a stray cat uses your garden as a litter box, the cat feces could make you very sick. same reason pregnant women aren't supposed to clean out the litter box. I can't remember exactly what the term of the illness is that your baby can get from this...toxemia, maybe?? not sure.
