This is a question for lovers of horror and scary movies in general - research really into what would make a screenplay tick.

I was scared of the Stand. It was the fact that death started with a sneeze after a bio-hazard escapes. Then the old Salem Lot.

I think the scariest movie I've ever seen is Seven. It wasn't, for me, jumping in my seat kind of scary, but the bit at the end really disturbed me. I think maybe sometimes it's just knowing that there's something there rather than being shown it (people who have seen Seven will know exactly what I meant there!) I tend to remember a film that has disturbed me, over an out and out horror because I think horror films are too open to cliches. Good luck with your screenplay, Stacey.

A film called The Changeling with George C Scott - its a real old fashioned ghost story - very scary

It aint a horror movie but all the same it still gives me the creeps...
The intruders movie, an alien abductions story on some ppl that scares the hell otta me...

Misery and Fargo - the realism. Things like this could an do actually happen. Misery the sledgehammer scene and Fargo the wood chipper scene.

When I was younger it was The American Werewolf in London ,the opening scene on the moors freaked me right out and gave my sister nightmares for month's but she was 5

I don't get scared easily but for some reasons Signs really freaked me out!!!
I think I would go with the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre all round though.....really great scaring film!!!!

Probably Scary Movie 4 because it was so god-awfully bad I couldn't watch it.

the grudge (japenese version oringinal) freaked me out.
also the original RING japanese version along with dark water too. American versions seem to lose the plot abit.

But i remember watching the exorcist and the omen for the first time i really crapped myself then ...hahahah
