Unlike Claire52, I am an unwaivering Ducks fan. I am indifferent to their recent change of name and appearance and I just hope that they can go all the way this year.

Well I'll be the first, and say Ottawa Senators.
I have been a long time fan of theirs (other than my Oiler days in the 80's...or whichever team Wayne played for) and have always supported the team through good and bad years (and I know most would say, don't you mean all bad?)
I like the team though because you can see the talent that is present (but just needs good direction) and the camaraderie between the guys.
I hope (like every year) they make it to the playoffs but also get to have that moment like back in 02'-'03 where they were 1 goal away fom the Stanley Cup Finals.

The Detroit Red Wings. They are one of the Original Six and have had a steady following of fans. Detroit is known as Hockeytown, for its ability to attract fans to the Joe Louis Arena every year. They've had steady players, many of them veterans, and who were better than the unbeatable Russian Five. Yzerman was the longest running captain and played only for the Red Wings while in the NHL. That has to stand for something. ABsolutely love them and have been following hockey and the Red wings since I was 10!

Oilers. It is hard not to go with the team that is in the city you live in, and you got to them in the 80s, then feel for them when the economics almost derailed them like what happened to Winnipeg and Quebec.
All teams have a lot of character people, I just see more of it in the Oil cuz I see so much of them (tv and news and games). So those are the reasons that I have to give them the most love, props and kudos.

The Carolina Hurricanes. I started following them when they moved from Hartford (where they were the Whalers) to N.C. and have been a fan ever since. It was difficult in the early years, before they had their own arena and crowds were small as hockey was still catchin on in the area. But fans eventually took notice, and after making a championship run and falling short, they came back two years later to win it all and are the defending Stanley Cup champions.

My favorite NHL team is the Pittsburgh Penguins. I love Sidney Crosby he is amazing!! He makes watching hockey really fun and exciting! He was the reason that I started to watch hockey. He is going to lead the Penguins to the Stanley Cup one day. Hope it helps!
