The image was first seen in a Rudolph Valentino movie. It's not a specific part/requirement of tango.

It's the rose her partner gave to her before the dance. Where else is she going to put it? (I don't know either)

I always thought it was in the man..I guess it doesn't matter...mabye because she has bad breath.
