Personally I think they should be charged a bit more because they are taking up more space. Why should a skinny person and a larger person be charged the same price, but for different amounts of space?? If we build things bigger, then we are accommodating to the growing epidemic of obesity in this country. We're supposed to stop the problem, not encourage it.

No reason for you to use the F word in your question.
I struggle with this because what if the flight is sold out. That person is going to spill over and be touching you. But, if they will take up two spaces, they should pay for two spaces. However, do the reservation agents or websites now have to have a question asking someone how heavy they are, or how far around their sitting parts are?

As long as things are kept fair, that's fine. So the jerk who keeps jabbing his neighbors' ribs with his elbows should have to pay for 2 seats, too. So should anyone who has a whole lot of crap they keep getting out and messing with.
It shouldn't be done by looking at people and guessing, though. There would have to be a row of seats at the ticketing counter or check-in, where every single passenger (not just those who look fat) would have to prove he or she could fit into the seats. Some of us fatties carry our weight differently, so that we don't have trouble fitting in the seats and buckling the belts. Others of the same weight may need belt extenders.
Plane seats are unrealistically small now, leaving everyone cramped and grumpy. It would make far more sense to just increase seat sizes to something reasonable.

I do consider the airlines in making the guy pay for yet another seat, alongside with coach busses. If I pay for a seat, I assume to have the seat all to myself, no longer have the guy next to me placed the arm relax up and taking 10 inches of my seat, forcing the different arm relax into the edge of my abdomen. I consider any corporation that has assigned seating to fee a guy or woman greater via their girth.

Yes I hate to say it but if you are the size of two people then you should have to pay for the extract seat you are taking up. But the only problem is when you go to get ticket for say a concert, what are they going to start doing asking you weight. so it is a hard then to find a middle ground with

I think that if there are two free, adjacent seats, they shouldn't have to pay for two. However, if tickets for the plane are in high demand (meaning the extra seats would be used, normally) they should have to pay. This would probbaly involve a deposit ahead of time.
then again, that's getting way too complicated and it's mostly unnecessary. maybe they should just pay for two.

I think if they take up an extra seat they should be charged an extra seat. It's only fair for that person who missed out on sitting there... not to mention the person who is giving the service (airplane, bus, etc.)

yes an extra fee should be applied...i know southwest actually does do that already. having seats made bigger would be cool to..more room would def. be more comfortable for everyone...planes are kinda crammed sometimes...not much personal bubble space :D
