Let's just say.....you have been just "dating" someone....and they?

have never asked anything personal about you and your family...Now after 3 months.....do they have the right to know...whether your parents are alive....and so forth???? because let's just say....you are NOT SURE he is the one for you and you are over 40 years old??? do they have the right to know? I mean you have had to be guarded because of all the bad people you have come in contact with....Can you just say..."well, i don't know you well enough to answer some quesions if they are of a personal nature.."????

if you feel comfortable disgussing your personal life with them, go for it! always trust your intuition though, and if you're not feeling close to them at all, then by all means it's your own business and they don't have a right to know.

After 3 months he definitely has the right to know certain things. How is he supposed to be expected to give up things about himself when you don't return the favor. If you keep pushing him away you'll end up alone. Sure, be guarded but you can reveal the facts to him. Say, no.. my parents are dead. They died in a car wreck but I don't want to talk about it yet. That way he knows what happened and knows about you but you don't have to share your feelings. Thus, not opening yourself up completely. You just need to learn how much to share.

Wow, if you can't give out that information after 3 months- normally, I gave out that information to anyone who asks within 20 minutes sometimes- this would give you the appearance of being closted, cold, uncairing, and standoffish!

Well, with my soon to be hubby, with in the first week i had dinner with his mom and dad . As well as all his friends and family knew bout me. But on the same token, we knew before we ever met we were in love! Good luck xxo
