Hi everyone. Does anyone know if there's a proper name for the needle used when you're having a tattoo? Any answers will be very much appreciated. Thank you!

A needle or sharp object is used to puncture the skin while inks or pigments are inserted into this wound. As the woulnd heals and scars, the colour remains in the skin.
Most modern tattooists use a hand-held device ("gun") that rapidly moves a needle from side to side. The needle is dipped in ink and is used to score the flesh. Of course, there's always the schoolboy approach of pen ink and a compass point!

You order them out of a catalog as "needles". I think that is the proper name.
