the second one is actually what I used to pass the state exam. It's a real pain in the a** if you've taken the exam in a different state already becuase you have to forget a lot of what you already know.

I read and reread my text books and notes to pass my exam.
A note on joker kid, homestead does not protect you from your lender, you don't pay your mortgage the lender forecloses, the homestead act protects you from general creditors and to protect spouses by requiring that both husband and wife join in executing any deed conveying homestead property etc. . Read pages 151-153 of Modern Real Estate Practice In Texas 11th edition.
