I did, but I knew I would probably have to going into the ordeal. My son was only 14, just starting highschool, and didn't think that he would be as busy as he is. A year later, I adopted my daughter's bird as well, because she wasn't able to handle the vet bills, and instead of her giving it up, I took over the quaker parrot's care.

I adopted my sister's pet when she left. But I'm taking her with me when I leave.

I don't have kids, but my parents adopted a greyhound when I was young and today I have a cat that was found in a center city dumpster here in Philadelphia...he name is "Stinky" and she rocks!
