Either time is okay, the point is to reduce evaporation of water. Early morning or evening are best, mid-day is worst.

Anytime the sun isn't high in the sky. The best part is probably after 6 PM or before 9 AM. If you water during the hottest hours the sun will dry up the water before it has a chance to do any good and burn the grass or plants.

The humidity is oftentimes optimal in the course of the nighttime hours. this limitations the evaporation of the water that you employ on the backyard. Water receives more desirable time to soak the soil at the same time as it really is carried out at nighttime. it really is the favored time to water. even with the undeniable fact that, in case you stay in a humid climate, the grass each from time to time develops root rot from being moist each and each of the time. i might want to propose watering the grass round 3 in the early morning on a timer. That way the soil would have a sturdy soaking yet no longer too extreme previously the morning sunlight begins to dry issues up.

It's better to water at night. The water will not evaporate as fast, and during bright, hot sunlight, the water crystal's act like tiny magnifying glasses and burn the grass or shrubs.

Morning, shortly before sun-up. This gives the water a chance to soak into the ground, but then the sun will dry the individual blades thus preventing fungus .

Morning is better, especially if the nights are cold. It prevents grass from rotting.

Watering in the a.m. means as the day warms you will have more evaporation and less absorption. I've been told watering in the evening doesn't allow for enough evaporation and can encourage mold and root rot. Go to a nursery and see what they recommend.

Definitely in the morning so the grass has time to dry before sundown. That way it won't get a fungus.
