Breastfeed her while the plane is taking off and landing.
If you don't nurse, give her a pacifier or a bottle.

I took my son when when he was 5 and 1/2 mos old on a flight accross the country. The best way I found of makeing sure he was comfortable was feeding him during takeoff and landing, but if he happened to be asleep, it didn't seem to bother him during the landings. Take tylenol with you, because she may end up with a headache. If you have a layover, try to find a quiet corner....very hard in an airport, but you might get lucky if you look around a bit. But try to keep it as comfortable for her as possible. Your biggest problem is the inactivity unless she has no problem whatsoever sitting still. Just take along whatever is easy access and small that she enjoys, and be patient. Do not worry if she starts to act up and throws a fit or gets upset and starts crying, because other passengers can just get over it. Small spaces are awfull. My son is very even tempered, but when he actually got upset on our flight one aggravated person got up and moved so the flight attendants let me have all 3 seats to myself. It was great!
Don't hesitate to ask the flight attendants if there are 2 seats available together that you can move to after everyone is seated. They are very helpfull!Good luck.

The bottle and pacifier or nursing during take off and landing is the best, but call ahead, check on the recent liquid restrictions. If you are unable to bring a filled bottle on board try asking a flight attendant for water and apple juice so you can fill the bottle.

Give the child a big piece of beef jerky to chew on… the chewing action will pop the ears…. And keep them entertained for a large part of the trip

If your child is still taking a bottle the sucking action will be enough to clear out the ear popping.

The best thing you can do to alleviate her discomfort during take-off & landing is to make sure she's nursing during the ascent and descent. The movement of the jaw helps to keep her ear canals open thereby keeping the pressure in her ears from becoming painful.
Trust me - it works!

When my little boy was 1 year old he went to Hawaii with me at that time he had tubes in his ears and he didn't seem to have any problems there or flying back. Call your pediatrician and tell her or him your concerns for your child they should be able to answer your question.

I were given my ears pierced precise when I became six because my mom stated i'd have even with i needed if I were given my newbie's element swimming certification from the pink flow. I stated i needed my ears pierced. She stated, um, we were gonna make you wait till you've been twelve. I stated, you stated, even with i needed. and that i desire my ears pierced. I were given the certification and were given my ears pierced. Pinch, pinch, all executed. i do not understand in case you want to maintain the piercing to apply as a advantages later, or in case you want her to flow ahead and get it executed as a touch one. It would not damage that a lot--come on, boy toddlers get their foreskins trimmed off and they don't die or something. Piercing ears is way a lot less annoying than that (and compared to foreskins, in case you do not placed rings contained in the piercings, the piercings develop back. some men choose their foreskins would develop back!) i don't believe of the age concerns all that a lot--keep it sparkling, ideas the holes, it will heal purely fantastic if all is going as commonly used. i wager the significant situation is, are you doing it for her or you? I were given mine because i needed them, and it became a motivating aspect to get my pink flow certification. this is the actual situation you should imagine about--who's this for?

I had an flight attendant tell me to let my daughter cry, because this is the best thing to help open her ears.
