Mix 1 tsp. epsom salt and 3 drops iodine in 1/2cup boiling water. When the mixture cools enough to stick ur finger in it, apply it to the blackhead with a cotton ball. Repeat this 3 or 4 times, reheating the solution if necessary. Gently remove the blackhead and then dab the area with alcohol-based astringent.

Steam is probably most effective long-term - place a steamy hot washcloth over your face for a minute or two every morning & evening, followed by a rinse with cold water or an astringent such as witch hazel .... for a quick solution on a small area you could use the Biore pore strips (although sometimes they can be a bit irritating on sensitive skin).

Popping them is bad. I use those pore cleansing strips and facial wash for blackheads.

Biore pore strips for your nose are awesome, just make sure you use a tonor first, that's kinda a little trick i've noticed that helps! Yes picking and popping is bad, it spreads bacteria under your skin sometimes causing more problems.
