I know it's none of my business, but I suspect my friend of seeing a married man who I have met and I think is a real slimeball. He's obviously just using her. She might be okay with this, but I have kept my mouth shut. She has said that he tells her what she wants to hear (she's pretty, etc.) and I think he preys on her lack of self esteem and narcissisum. Should I say anything at all? I know I would have appreciated a friend telling me my boyfriend was an *** (I wasted 2 years figuring it out for myself) Incidentally, I do have a life of my own, but I also have a crummy job were I sit on the internet with nothing to do but ask myself this stuff. I hate it when answerers say get a life when they don't even have enough of one to ignore me and my petty issues.

UGH! Tough one! You obviously care alot about your friend. It is so hard watching them make decisions that WE can see will be harmful to them in the long run. My friends get the initial opinion from me...in other words I'll tell them once "I don't think he's right for you" BUT then after that, I keep it to myself. Because if you say too much they back away from you because they don't want to be around someone who isn't supportive of their destructive relationship. From there the best we can do is be there for them to pick up the pieces and not be judgmental. I feel for you! My very best wishes!

You already know it's none of your business, and, alas, all I can do is confirm that it really is none of your business. You risk losing the friend if you criticise him. Would YOU have listened to HER if SHE'd said bad things about YOUR ex when you were still with him?

Just be her friend and show her you care about her, but stay off the subject of the slimeball. It's something she has to learn for herself; you can't speed up the process, but you can make her so angry that she'll end the friendship! And NEVER say "I told you so"!

Good luck - I hope your friend appreciates that you really care about her.

Take your friend out to lunch, on the weekend when you both have time. Just the two of you together. Open the conversation by prefacing that you are concerned about her & that you have something to talk to her about. If you really have issues with her guy, then it is bound to affect the relationship between the two of you.

If you want to maintain this friendship, then you need to clear the air & communicate. Even if you end up in disagreement, at least you can both do that in an amiable manner & then should anything ever happen that's bad, she'll know she can still come to you because you'll still be her friend.
