I have 3 bay windows (from ground on up) that I would like to add a few trees in front of to provide a decorative look, and maybe even some shade. I really love Palm trees, but I keep reading that rats are attracted to them. Not sure if this is true, but if this is the case, I definitely dont want them! I am looking for something that requires low-to-middle maintenance and that are not that expensive.

Be sure to plant trees far enough from your home so they have space to grow. These may grow where you live: Crape Myrtle, Western Redbud, or a Magnolia (the variety that has the slang name tulip tree but it is not THE actual tulip tree; I can't think of the Species name of this tree at the moment but it has beautiful flowers that look like tulips). These three are deciduous trees and all have lovely flowers in the Spring or Summer.
