My favorite name that I've used for my own pets has been...Oliver. It's a great strong natured name. One of the main reasons I name my pets Oliver is to remind me of a good friend who died a few years ago...Oliver, was her middle name.
But in the end you have to make sure whichever name you choose for him...works. So to begin this process of name elimination, look the turtle in the eyes and repeat each name on your "Possible Names" list. Who knows maybe Hentry or Vladamire are great names but your turtles personality doesn't match that name. Trust me this method works. So try it out and see if your turtle is an Oliver. I hope so. You'll know when you've found the right name when it feels right.

My tortoise's name is Tank because his shell looks like a big ol tank.
But I had a cat named Fizz-gig one time and another named Farfeeza (a type of synthesizer...probably spelled wrong)
Look for words in other languages that appeal to you.
My sisters cats names are Mumford and P2 (the cage he was in at the pound) My moms dog is Pumpin-head...he is orange and they call him by his entire name, never shortening it which cracks me up.
