This isn't my area of expertise, but I don't believe that it's codified anywhere....at least, not on the Federal level.

There may be state laws regarding the required age for supervision of a minor child in the home, but it would depend on the state you live in.

Oh...regardless of what you find out about possible age restrictions, you should get Red Cross certified in infant and child CPR before you start babysitting!!!

Here, I am going to use some reasonable deduction. There are babysitting certification classes that are offered to children ages 11 and up. So, I am going to assume if one obtains babysitting certification at the age of 11 or 12, then it is reasonable to assume that the child can be 11 or 12 to babysit. But, again, this is just a deduction.

theres no criminal age 2 b left at abode on ur very own or in charge of siblings however the government recomend 12. 2 have a job u might desire to b a minimum of 13 yet 2 b honest i dont think of ny1 wud care dat lots.

There isn't one. Usually, parents will hire you if they see you are mature. There are many cases of where parents have hired someone too young to responsibly watch a child or infant and in which the child or infant has died due to lack of responsibility

A couple of states incl. Maryland have 14-15 yr old age limit, Canada has 12 yr old. Most places incl. most of US & UK have no age limit.
