I'm trying to transfer my video to a DVD. I have connected the i-link cable to the Sony Camcorder, but can not seem to find where it goes into the computer. I have a Dell that I bought 4 years ago. Is it possible that this computer is not equipped for an i-link?

Probably not. i-link is another name for Firewire or IEEE 1394. Open up your network connections in the control panel and then network connections to see if you have a 1394 connection.

If you do, then look at the connections on your computer. The 1394 (Firewire) connection look a little like USB connections with one of the short sides rounded.

If you have one of those, then you can get a cable that has your i-Link connection for the camcorder on one and and a full sized 1394 connection on the other.

If not, you can purchase a Firewire card at most electronics stores for about $20 and install it in your computer. You will probably still need that 4-pin to 6-pin Firrewire cable which you can get at the same place you buy the card.

It should connect to a firewire port on the computer.
