Only 4 wheel drive vehicles are 4x4s not just trucks but any 4 wheel drive auto. In a 4X4 four out of four wheels are turned by the engine. In any 2 wheel drive vehicle only 2 out 4 wheels are turned by the engine. The remaining two are turned by the pulled the car. Mortorcycles are like your bicycle they have a chain that turns the rear wheel except that the chain is attached to the motor insted of pedals. I would have to say that a motorcycle would be a 1X2.

It's a 2 x 1, a 4 x 4 means it has 4 wheels and all 4 propel the vehicle
