I would have to say, sentimentally speaking, is The Empire Strikes Back. I still remember the day that I saw it; Thanksgiving Day at my uncle's house in Washington. We all sat in his basement living room and watched the newly released on VHS sequel to Star Wars. I was only five, but the rest of my family had seen it in the theater. It was 1985 and I was expecting an uplifting sequel like the first installment of the trilogy. But what I got in return was a band of ragtag rebels getting their @$$es kicked across the galaxy, Luke getting his hand cut off, and Han Solo being carted away by a ruthless bounty hunter. I was totally blown away. My first realistic film experience. I was forever changed.

That is a tough choice but if i had to choose if there was no other choice but to choose(sorry couldn't resist quoting it) I would choose Master and Commander:The Far Side of the World because of the awesome battle scenes and Paul Bettany and Russell Crowe( my friend wanted me to mention Russell) . It is an awesome movie.

An american werewolf in london - it contains the single greatest special effects scene even today (the transformation from man to wolf), the right kind of atmosphere (the moors sequence at the beginning), plenty of gore, and some great black comedy moments absolute CLASS!!!!!

Although it's very old The Imitation of life,it's very good about a black woman who has a mixed daughter but she looks more white and it takes place back in 1938 it's pretty old but good, but the daughter rather pass for white and as she get's older she ignores her mother the mother works for a white lady that's where they live,The white lady is really good to her and her daughter as a matter of fact treats them like family, really good.

Million Dollar Baby because it's as close as can be to modern pure tragedy in the Aristotelian sense of the word.
