i tried both keyboards on this computer and they are fine! it was fine before i restarted it but stopped wrking after i restarted my computer

have you ever plugged the mouse and keyboard in the incorrect playstation /2 socket per chance? The sockets are coloration coded (pink for keyboard and eco-friendly for mouse.) in case you get them the incorrect way, or plug the keyboard in the mouse socket, it basically gained't detect it. same applies to the mouse. desire this permits :)

Check the plug...it might have come loose.
