Technically, the war between Isreal and Lebanon started in 1982 never ended. There were peace proposals drafted but never signed, and neither side has made any large-scale assaults on the other for years. But this hardly changes the facts. The war continues even now.
Likewise, since the definition of 'statehood' has pretty much been met by Palestine, it could easily be argued that Isreal and Palastine have been in a state of war and have been ever since Isreal claimed statehood for itself on May 15, 1948. This war, too, has never really officially ended.
In the latter case, a cease-fire WAS drawn up in 1949 which didn't consider Palestine to be a state... but I don't think states can be wished out of existance in quite that way. The U.N. has admonished Israel for violating the terms of this agreement for decades since then, but hasn't really DONE anything about it (for that matter, other countries have violated this agreement too... just not quite as much or for as long). And again, a cease-fire isn't necessarily a declaration of peace... so perhaps Isreal has been in a state or war with Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria ever since then too (and maybe Iraq, too, depending on how you look at things).

From what I have read, it seems that Israel is still at war with Lebanon from back in 1982. The outcome of that war was a cease-fire agreement, not a peace treaty.

It is more of a mindset that Israel and the US are at war with. We are at war with Islamic Fundamentalists.
