I haven't had my draft yet. But here are some of my notes concerning it:
-- don't pick Larry Johnson at #1 (as is popular now). His line (after losing the 2 starting tackles from last year) looks abyssmal. Shawn Alexander should be #1, LT should be 2.
-- Phillip Rivers will be a stud (see pre-season versus G.B.), and you'll be able to get him cheap.
-- with your last pick in the draft, choose Vincent Jackson (WR - SD)
-- Randy Moss will continue to underperform with Aaron Brooks as a QB. Moss is more like a #2 or 3 fantasy receiver now.
-- the following rookie RB's will be big contributors this year:
Lawrence Maroney (NE) – looks unbelievable
DeAngelo Williams (car)
Joseph Addai (Ind)
watch Jerious Norwood for Atlanta... ESPECIALLY IF DUCKETT GETS TRADED!!!
Maurice Jones-Drew

Frank Gore was a good pick if your draft was earlier when not everyone knew that he was going to eventually be the starter in San Fran. Now, the cats out of the bag and he will probablly get drafted early. Reggie Brown is a #1 receiver that could be available a little late. Fred Taylor is a #1 running back who is awesome if he can stay healthy. He usually drops pretty far and offers great value at RB. Fred had a good offseason and should have a quality year. teh Jaguars backup Greg Jones is also a good pickup late in the draft for insurance if Fred goes down. Plus he is the starting fullback when Fred is in and still gets short yardage. The Seahawks, Cowboys, and Jaguars are underrated defenses that you can often get late in the draft. Oh, and don't bite on Reggie Bush in the 1st 2 rounds like some people have. He's going to be splitting time with Deuce.

My draft was held early in June, so the surprise didn't come until this preseason. Those who were left undrafted in my league are still avalible and can produce this season:
-Mike Bell, Denver: He looks legit to be the #1 RB after an impressive start in preseason and looking to hold on against the overrated Tatum Bell. History has been great for any Denver RB that starts (Terell Davis, Clinton Portis, Reuben Droughns, Mike Anderson) and Bell is looking to add to that list this season. He was undrafted then but looks like a hot commidity in the draft board now and he a guarenteed Top 6 Round pick.
-Frank Gore, San Francisco: He was the legit starter even before Barlow was traded to the Jets and now has the job all by himself. His last 3 games, all starts, last season has average 5.0+ yards per game and looks like he's carrying that success into preseason. Even though Alex Smith hasn't improve, Gore should get his share of the offense and that makes him from being undrafted to a late round pick in no time. Be aware that Barlow share that same situation when Garrison Hearst left and got the job, he bombed and never recovered.
-Cedric Benson, Chicago: Whether Thomas Jones is the starter or not, Benson will get his share of the ball and when he does, watch out
Others that were left undrafted: LenDale White, DeAngelo Williams, Laurence Maroney.
Those who were drafted in the late rounds in my league but can be a consensus top pick come next year:
- I drafted Chester Taylor in the 10th round, hoping that he can be a sucess in a rich running game in Minnesota after years of shining as Jamal Lewis backup, much like Larry Johnson and Lamont Jordan did last season from being backups to top-10 in a season.
-In that same round, Kevin Jones, Jamal Lewis, Corey Dillon, and Deshaun Foster all fell in the lap by several teams, hoping to rebound from their disatorous season and land a gold mine.
-In the 11th round, Addai and L. Coles, were drafted late and hope to become studs in the end.
-Drew Bennett fell in my lap in the 12th round, becoming Billy Volek new favorite target and as history show, Volek and Bennett had benefited from each other, producing yards together and they could do it again.
-Good kickers are still avalible in the 14th round, with Wilkins and Akers being chosen in that round.
-Sleeper defense like New England, Miami, and Buffalo are avalible in the last round.
-Otherwise, the top picks has been chosen in a round-by-round basis in my league, with Manning going #1, Alexander #2, and I got LJ at #3.
Remember, my draft was held in June, so the past two months in the draft landscape has change since preseason.
