Sure! -Go buy some sunflower seeds (from a nursery- NOT a grocery store!), plant them in a very sunny & hot spot in May, water them once or twice a week for 3 months, cut down & dry the seed-heads in late Aug./early Sept.- & you'll have bagsfull of sunflower seeds to feed the birds over the next winter! Happy gardening!

LOL....You don't have to "make" sunflowers...You just plant the seed in the spring, and it'll GROW it's own seeds. For those who don't know where to look, a Sunflower has a big, black center with yellow petals all around it. If you look close, the "black center" is made up of hundreds of seeds, when the flower is mature.

You take the sunflower seeds out of them and then put them in a birdfeeder or something. There's no processing required. Hell, we've got birds that fly right up to the flower and pick the seeds off.

I was going to try this...but the birds couldn't wait and ate the seeds right off the sunflowers as they grew!

Just hang the sunflower head, impale it on the hook of a hanger and bend the hanger so you can suspend it from a branch.
