I agree with Justin Timberlake 100%!!! Taylor should NOT have won American Idol. Katharine McPhee's got the better voice. Taylor doesn't even act like he cares that he won, even though it's been a few months. I sure hope the contestants are better this season in January.

I disagree... Taylor Hicks is capable of carrying a tune though just not as well as some other performers out there. Being a performer isn't always about sounding good... It has a lot to do with stage presence and personality which Taylor Hicks has a ton of. I've worked in theater and film (behind the scenes in production and on stage) since I was 8. If personality, stage presence and other factors didn't count towards the overall quality of an artist then how would you explain Brittney Spears? In our society performers aren't judged soley on their ability to sing a note spot-on, but rather how they present themselves overall. A beautiful girl who sings okay, dances well, has a good personality and is photogenic is more likely to get a record deal than someone who sings perfectly, is overweight, and shy.
Catherine McPhee had a MUCH better voice than Taylor Hicks but she had the personality of a squeaky piece of Styrofoam...

I don't agree. Justin Timberlake is the one who can't carry a tune. I've thought that about him since he started out. His voice is high pitched and whiney sounding. Taylor Hicks may not be the greatest singer to ever grace our radios, but at least he can carry a tune--even without a bucket.

What contained in the hell does Justin Timberlake study about skills besides. he's from some tacky boy band which will in no way stand the try of time; his occupation is extra in accordance to seem and charm than surely skills; and Taylor Hicks has extra soul in his freakin pinky than Justin has in his entire occupation as a so stated as musician.

I don't agree and I can't adhere to your "back it up with facts and not opinion," for the simple fact that Taylor was voted as American Idol on people's opinions, not on facts. My feelings on that situation is that if these singers today had to go through a selection process such as AI, 90% of them wouldn't have a contract today, including Mr. Timberlake. He doesn't have the smoothest voice in the world, so he really doesn't have much room to talk about Taylor. Maybe I'm biased about Taylor because I voted for him and I'm a resident of Birmingham, Alabama. I personally love Taylor's voice and style.

I don't like Taylor Hicks that much but he is better than Justin Timberlake. Taylor has a more mature voice and he uses his vocals in a better way, JT's music sucks!

totally agree. taylor's voice sounds weak and is a hair off key. now justin timberlake is a only a dancer who can carry a note. if it weren't for all the synthesizers, JT's songs would be total crap. so, both suck, but taylor sucks a bit less than timberlake.

Well for one it's not 100 percent certain Justin said that, there are argument from him publicist that he never said that.
If it is true and he said it, I would have to disagree. I think Taylor is a pretty good singer, and millions of other Americans seem to agree, because he did win. And I really like his song Do I Make You Proud and felt it was song well. Besides Taylor proves, that even the underdogs, do have their day.

how can you argue a taste in music with a fact??
everyone has an opinion, and factually, justin timberlake is no better than taylor hicks.
most people forget that there is a difference between "live" and "dubbed in a soundproof booth with much editing". i'm not really a big fan of his, but i think that he is a very good singer, better than justin timberlake.

Taylor is a great singer, there's my opinion.
Taylor won American Idol for some reason, there's the fact!!
It's hard not to answer this question not based on opinion, because some people may like Taylor style, while others do not.
