your husband always yells to you to say goodnight, then one night you don't hear him so he goes ahead to bed angry, how would you feel?

I'd feel a bit confused emotionally if that happened. I'd also want to find alternatives that work.

If your guy was tired and moody, maybe he just slipped up and he's just as annoyed with himself for that as he is for knowing he might be blaming you. Sometimes you just have to let it go. He has probably decided to try not to repeat that one, and doesn't want to discuss it.

My guy sometimes flicks the light off and on to get my attention if he's signing something to me and I didn't catch it. We have a lot of 'little' routines that work for us but it takes time to establish these.

But it's the same with any relationship, there will be times when communication is not optimal. Sheep happens! Baaa-a-a! and that is said with a smile. :) With a life full of challenges where I have to adapt/swim or sink, I've always tended to find humor in things so that stuff doesn't get overwhelming. I guess that's what our guys find great about us. :)

I hope things are doing better for you both now.

For one thing, I'd feel hurt, since he should know better.

Why not start a new goodnight routine, instead of saying it, just give a special goodnight kiss?

Sounds like you have a pouting little boy on your hands! Give him a cookie and tell him everything will be ok! Mommy still loves him!

maybe he's had a bad day... just say you're sorry you didn't hear him.. and have some "make up" time... I'm sure it can't be easy for someone to be helling all the time.. and it must be frustrating for someone not to hear.. just talk...
