1) I would say in small quantities, bacon should be ok. If she's anything like my daughter, her favorite will last a week, and then she won't want it again for like a month (LOL)
2) I started brushing my daughter's teeth at 6m per the advice of her doctor. Just a soft baby toothbrush in the morning, just water. At first she might complain, but when it becomes part of the routine, she'll get used to it.

I'd agree with what people have said that a little bacon in moderation should be fine - but I'd go for a low salt one.
As for teeth cleaning, as soon as teeth apear its good to start to brusth them. Just get a soft baby toothbrush and a small amount of baby toothpaste and give them a quick brush twice a day.

I would think that bacon would be too rough for a 9 month old but as long as she doesn't eat too much of it, it shouldn't hurt her. Probably makes her drink more fluids and more fluids is good.
Before my daughter even got teeth I would just give her a toothbrush to chew on. She chews on a toothbrush 2 times a day and once a day I wipe her teeth with a damp washcloth and then let her chew on the washcloth.

Not sure about the bacon thing but you should be brushing her teeth, well I waited till there was about 3 or 4 in there. She probably won't like it much but even if you just get her to put it in her mouth, she'll get the idea soon enough. Ours brush theirs morning and night. You get some really cute first toothbrushes too.

Question 1--in small amounts bacon is fine--everything in moderation. Try offering alternatives like turkey bacon as well.
Question 2--you don't have to brush them but wiping them with a clean damp cloth each day would be advised.

1) I think any pork product is bad for all humans.
2) Get her brushing her teeth now. Many find it helpful to buy a soft to med soft bristle toothbrush that they can hold onto. Let them chew on it after that eat. This serves 2 purposes. Obviously it helps to clean their teeth, but it also makes their gums feel good, so it will help with their teething.
This would not be a substitute for you brushing her teeth daily.
Always check with your doctor before taking any advice from these formats.

perhaps smoked is too salty, i would suggest you try unsmoked and limit the amount she gets, why not try making a cheese sauce for macaroni and putting some chopped bacon through it my kids are fussy and they love that. with both my children i gave them toothbrushes from about 4 months, and i would let them play with it and explore the feeling in their mouths twice a day, in morning and at bathtime at night, i then introduced a v small amount of toothpast from around 5 months, i think the quicker you get them used to a routine of brushing teeth...the easier it is to keep that routine!

Nowadays I would say it is too salty for her, but try and stick to health guidelines for daily intake. Both my children ate bacon when they were her age, and I am happy to say, they are now adults and quite healthy ones at that. But check with your health visitor to be on the safe side. Times are changing.

im sure you can buy unsalted bacon.....my daughter also loves bacon she is now nearly three but has been eating it since she was old enough to eat solids....
as for brushing her teeth you can start brushing them as soon as she has got some i did this with mine little girl and now she loves brushing her teeth...she has just gotton used to it..so i say the earlier the better.you can buy toothpastes especially for milk teeth but if she isnt keen on the taste then just let her put water on it for now and keep trying....
good luck with this...it aint easy being a mum....lol

bits of bacon are o.k. just be sure they are small peices and don't give her tons b/c of the high sodium and fat content.
as a rule:
everything is ok, when it comes to good nutrition, as long as it's in MODERATION.
my nutrition professor couldn't drive this point home enough in class.
second question:
yeah, brush her teeth every day. it will help her learn good dental habits and it will keep her baby breath fresh. there a baby toothpastes you can buy and little toothbrushes that fit on your finger tip!
take care!
