I'm 8 weeks along and i've still been feeling slight cramping in my lower abdomen...not severe just twinges. I've heard that one of the signs of an tubal pregnancy was cramping, which makes me kind of nervous. Does anyone know about tubal pregnancy's, what the chances are and around what time they occur? Would there be any other reason why i'm having light cramps every now and then?

If your pregnancy was tubal it would HURT. I got a lot of light "twinges" at the beginning of my pregnancies. Your uterus is stretching, and that pushes everything else out of place. I got a lot of cramping on my lower right side from my bladder being pushed on, and every time I sneezed I felt a pinch in my abdomen. A tubal pregnancy is where the egg implants in the Fallopian tubes, so it would happen within a few days after the egg was fertilized.
If you are concerned that your pregnancy is tubal, or about the cramps you are feeling I urge you to please call your OB/GYN and discuss this with the nurse or the doctor, a tubal pregnancy can be very serious and even fatal.

When to Seek Medical Care

If you are pregnant and experience any unusual abdominal pain or vaginal bleeding, contact a medical professional immediately. If your health care provider cannot be reached, or if your symptoms become worse, go quickly to a hospital's emergency department.

You must go to a hospital's emergency department for any of the following reasons:

* Severe abdominal pain

* Heavy vaginal bleeding

* Passing out or falling out

* Dizziness when standing

* If you are unable to reach your health care provider in a timely manner

First off, cramping is definitely something to speak to your Dr. about. No matter what you think it might be, he needs to know.

Ectopic (tubal) pregnancy only happens in 2% of pregnancies. The most obvious symptoms are abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding. An ectopic pregnancy doesn't occur after you're pregnant. Usually the sperm meets the egg in the tube anyways and that's how you get pregnant. In some women, sometimes b/c of scar tissue, the egg never travels down the tube into the uterus. When it stays in the tube, it's a tubal pregnancy. As the baby grows bigger, the tube will rupture, which can kill you or at the least cause problems for future fertility.

I'm 14 weeks along and I still get those "twinges" in my abdomen or way up inside of me, sometimes they REALLY hurt, my doctor has told me time and time again it's just stretching and loosening. I was really worried about the tubal pregnancy thing too, but if you're not in INTENSE, can't move, lasts a long time pain or you're not spotting or anything, I woudn't worry about it. I don't think you'd be feeling the effects of a tubal pregnancy at 8 weeks anyways because the baby is so tiny it couldn't be bursting thru any organs, causing the discomfort.

Tubal pregnancys are rare and do you smoke? Because if you smoke you have a higher risk of a tubal pregnancy. I had cramping all the way up until I was 12 + weeks but mine were lay on your back with tylenol type cramps. Your uterus is stretching which is normal I wouldnt be too concerned but you may want to ask your doctor! This is just advice not medical advice

There are lots of reasons for the twinges besides a tubal pregnancy. As your uterus is expanding, it's moving other organs out of the way to make room for your baby to grow. Your body is adjusting to being pregnant and being asked to do things it's never done before -- like stretching out muscles you've never used.

Call your doctor's office and/or check "What to Expect When You're Expecting" for more information about your symptoms and tubal pregnancies.

About fifty percent (1 in 2) women who are experiencing a tubal pregnancy complain of abdominal pain on one side of their bodies. One third (1 in 3) become light-headed and twenty percent (1 in 5) have shoulder pain on the same side as the stomach pain.
Here are sings of a tubal:

Cramping on one-side only (later may radiate around waist)
HCG levels may be normal at first and then decline
Shoulder pain
Bleeding or spotting (light bleeding or brown spotting)
Nauseated
Dizziness

Signs of tubal rupture:

Sharp pain on one-side
Spotting or bleeding (may be heavy)
Signs of shock (clammy skin, rapid weak pulse, fainting
In a normal pregnancy some cramping is to be expected. Call your doctor get a ultrasound to confirm the baby is in the womb not the tube I REALLY think you do not have a tubal pregnancy the pain is very bad.

I had the same problem. I was 10 weeks into it. Mine was very severe tho. I could barley move it was so bad. I went to my doctor, he had no idea what was wrong and he thought it was a tubal pregnancy. They sent me to get an ultra sound and after ten minutes told me it wasn't a tubal pregnancy but in fact it was that the baby was dead and my body was trying to abort. It broke mine and my husbands heart. While they were prepping me for a procedure, they found the heat beat. Wanted to kill the nurse. It turned out to be bladder infection. check for that first. It will save a lot of trouble if it is a bladder infection.

sounds like normal cramping. As long as you aren't bleeding then you should have absolutely nothing to worry about.

Tubal pregnancy occur at implantation.

If you think that you could have a possible tubial pregnancy then you should take to your doctor immediately.

Also, if you are having unprotected sex, the sprem can cause cramping. I was worried when I was pregnant and I kept getting painful cramps. When I told my doctor that the pain would usually happen a few hours after sex, she then told me that my partner should wear a condom because the sprem was causing slight contractions.

Your doctor may not agree, so it's always best to get advice with someone who knows you better.

You need to see a call or see a doctor about this. I wouldn't worry too much about a tubal pregnancy, I think they're pretty rare. If you have any bleeding, you should call a doctor right away.
