My neighbor Rick. But he's deaf.
That would be like Stevie Wonder getting HD.

I don't own a mobile phone. I have never purchased a mobile phone. I have occasionally had to carry one for work purposes but they've always been supplied by my employer, and I've always objected to carrying one about my person. Why should I carry something that probably cost a few hundred pounds just so that someone can mug me to take it from me? I don't want to set myself up to be the next victim of a street crime thankyouverymuch.

Had I wanted to be electronically tagged, I would have committed a crime, been convicted, and pleaded guilty. However, since that's not happened I don't feel the need to provide other people with a gps locating device that provides my exact location down to three feet at any given moment in time. Call me quaint and old fashioned, but in my entire life I've only sent one text message. It really didn't rock my world and I've not felt the need to repeat the experience.

Now don't get me wrong - I have voice mail on my landline, and I spent the best part of a decade in the I.T. industry, so it's not a technophobic thing. It is however a personal choice. My time is my time and I don't want it intruded upon. I don't want to set an expectation to people that I'm available on tap, because I'm not. I have a 'zero ring' option on my voicemail service and I use it. I have days (some say weeks and months) when I close the front door, put the phone on zero rings and I shut down. It's necessary, and it's who I am. A mobile phone would just set the wrong expectation.

There are some of us who are old enough to remember a world prior to mobile phones existing and who were quite content with the status quo at that time and feel no desire for it to change.

No I do not own a (tracking device) "mobile phone" I'm also on dial up ties up phone. For those who say help I need a break from the world-use pager if it's a must to be accesable-it safer-call from nearest phone tell them to end with 911 if emergency.
Yahoo messenger-say hey need you go offline-911-other wise world go away. Just my opinion:-)

Well I have got one, the only time it is ever taken out or used is when we go on long day trips in the car. It's a Pay as You Go Orange and I buy no more than £10.00 top up a year. I hate them.

i dont. Tell ya why, I HATE being interrupted, I live a peaceful life, I drive with no one bugging me, I can eat lunch without anyone bugging me... etc.
YOu all dont realize how tied to them you are, you COULDNT function without it, and thats honestly sad to me.
While I DO agree they are important for safety, id say they cause more accidents than they help people.

I have a house phone, laptop with email, office phone. thats all I need at the moment
