Most incumbent Republicans this year are sweating for their jobs. From Conservative columnists like David Broduer to George Will, many Republicans predict this could very well be another "1974"
So what is the main reason the party of Karl Rove and Rick santorum are distancing themselves from that ever-popular decider and uniter Bush?
Is is because Americans are sick of corruption in the Republican party?

What proof do you have of corruption? I'm pretty sure their is something going on as with every president but I will never just assume that is fact.
This is a problem though the Republican party is leaning more and more to the left, and as i have pointed out the majority of Americans are mostly conservative. I hope this party can return to the base that Newt Gingrich inspired to sure up voters.
I am an independent and I campaigned for Bush in 04, And I disagree with Bush on a few Issues like spending. If you can agree with me that he is spending to much then you can probably agree that he is not conservative enough.

I have agreed with Bush about 80 5% of the time for the time of his presidency. I disagree including his bailouts (which will finally end up being the great selection after all minus the housing bailout which i'm 100% hostile to). Who stated republicans are distancing themselves from Bush? Bush isn't operating this year, McCain is, and hence our loyalty is shifting to McCain. many human beings would believe McCain decrease than we do with Bush, even with the undeniable fact that this is extra constructive than the 0% that we believe Obama.

Low approval ratings. Then there is the wiretapping fiasco, That is serious, Nixon left office and the wiretapping was one of the main issues, clearly illegal. Pres. Bush signing statement gave him the right to wire tap without warrent. Judges statement about "King" we do not have laws as decreed by a King. Expect Congress to act and this to be settled with only a small ripple effect on the government..

Jim- stop with the corruption crap the DNC is just as corrupt as the GOP and you know it.
The GOP is in trouble, their president has created a huge weakness, but they still see their platform as strong. This will be their biggest mistake if the DNC actually makes a platform.
To clarify- Bush has made some incredible mistakes. The war in Iraq, NSA, inflation and gas prices to name but a few. This has ostracized the moderates . Bush thought he could unite people by liberal spending, that pissed off the GOP base. Now he has alienated the GOP base AND the moderates. Would YOU want this man supporting YOU....I sure the hell wouldn't.

Well because when approval ratings are so low and the judicial is stepping up and not standing by while the administration violates the constitution then it's time to run for the hills...especially when they know that when election time comes around this will bite them in the A SS.

republican or democrat, they are politicians. they will do whatever they have to to (first) get votes, and (second) stay in the relative good graces of their party. why do you think Dem's barbecued Lieberman? he supports the war, like they did when it was popular. republicans are still standing for what is right--finishing the job in the war, but they need to distance themselves just far enough to be able to sell that they are different enough to please.

Even the staunchest Republican knows it time to "cut and run" from Duh-bya and his failed administration. One only needs to look at the domestic and international damage his failed policies have caused, all while him and his greedy friends line their pockets with profits made with the blood of American soldiers. Duh-bya is a disgrace to the flag.
