I cannot tollerate the pill any longer. I was wondering if I can use an IUD. I have never had a baby. I get yeast infections from spermacide and I want to avoid all hormonal birth control. I am sick and getting pregnant is out of the question.

Nope just one serious partner for 2 years. Not planning on having others.

A diaphram uses spermacide and I cannot deal with them because I am allergic to latex.

I used one for 5 years and found it was great - you might feel a bit crampy at first but speak to the doc if this is the case

Dont' listen to the previous poster who said not to use one.

Every single form of birth control has slight failure rates. IUD is no different. Yes, there is a chance you can get pregnant while using it. Just like with pills, patches, shots, condoms, etc.

It is a very easy, reliable form of birth control. I have had mine for almost 3 years and I highly recommend it.

They may be used in women who have not had children, although I think insertion is easier in those who have, just because the uterus is much more flexible.

Also, the IUD can make you more suceptible to infections, so you shouldn't use it if you have more than one partner.

Yes you can use an IUD, since you have not had a baby you have a better chance of not having it fall out.
