I got a little weepy and forgot to say that my brother served in Viet Nam. He wanted to help the British in the Falklands but they kindly refused . I really love him.

Brings to mind this picture was an after thought and actually is a re-enactment of the actual event. But in the spirit of the question it also brings to mind the many, many deaths of soldiers it took and how hard it was to capture the island of Iwo Jima.

I know the photo is of Marines, but I was career Army, so it makes me think of my Dad's days in the Army [WWII and Korea] because of the era. God bless the Marines and those like your brave brother.

The incredible bravery, and sacrifices people made so we could live free as we do.
I wonder whether we have been worthy of their sacrifice.
I think we should make sure we are.
