Start at your local social cesurity office. You will need to bring your marriage license. Then, off to the DMV and then you can photo copy your new info to send to your creditors. Many will do the change over the phone. Just start at Social Security.

Depends on which documents you are trying to make changes on. Most cases a phone call and a copy of the marriage certificate will do. If you are talking public records, call your local clerk's office and ask them.

Take your marriage license to the DMV and they will change your name on there, also take your marriage license to the social security office and they will do the same. Remamber bring birth cert and SS card and ID with you to both places. Are you sure you want to do that its not fun getting it back if things don't work out???

Contact your local social security office and ask them what necessary papers you will need to send or take by. It's as simple as that and in a week you will be issue your social security card with your married name on it. You ss# will remain the same.

you normally need your birth certificate / passport and marriage certificate... but the best way is if you call the places where you want certain documents changed.. .and ask them what they need..
but if I were you.. I wouldn't go to that extent.. believe me I did.. and now it's a lot of hassle to go back to my maiden name.... keep you name on your legal documents and use your married name for the other stuff..

www.ehow.com
Then just search for how to change your name after marriage.
