Check with the state you are in, but most likely you will be able to write the test, since you do have some background in education.

In NY you do not, but there are 3 parts and one of theme is a video you send to the state. No school will employ you, so you'll never get the vidoe done. BUT- your area of study is great! Mail an application to the state you live in and they will tell you what you are deficient in order to get the license. Then, most of the testing is out of the way.

I don't think so, but I'm pretty sure you have to have at least a Bachelor's degree. Check with the school district that you're interested in working for...each state has different qualifications.

Yes, you have to have a Bachelors degree in education.

I have a bachelors degree in criminal justice and I wanted to get my teacher's certification. They are making me go back to school to get certified in eduction.

Maybe all you need is 2 more years if you already have your associate.

It depends on your state. I taught with a colleague who was able to get an emergency certification to teach Spanish (she had no education background), but she had to start taking classes right away to earn her real certification. (This was in Wisconsin.)

It depends on the state and county. In my county as long as you have a four year degree you can take the test but you have to teach in your "expertise". Check out your local board of ed.
