I's Jewish, and it's because it's so EASY. Something wrong - blame the Jews. War? Blame the Jews. Don't like what you had fop dinner the other night? Blame the Jews again. It's ignorance, just like any other prejudice. Maybe it's resentment. Jews understand that out of all the things someone can take away from you, there are many they can't. Self-respect, education, etc., and these are all very important to us. Those who talk the talk about how the Jews are smarter, richer, etc., are just jealous. Gee, I wonder? Maybe, just maybe, it WASN'T such a bad idea to go to school and study rather than just screw around after all............

I'm a minority and I love the Jews- dated two recently and know more Hebrew than the average American as a result of it. From what I've observed, the prejudice stems from treatment in Euroupe where Jews were practically forced to be bankers since the Christians at the time has laws against borrowing or lending and took away their farms. Thus, the Jewish people were called frugal and the stereotype somehow stuck.

This is done by people who refuse to take responsibility for their own words and actions. It is a tactic to misplace blame. If they use the Jews as scapegoats, then perhaps we won't notice the sins of their tormentors.

The Jewish people love their families, value education and work very hard for whatever they have. The ignorant want the results but refuse to expend the energy to earn the same.
They want everything on a silver plate while, at the same time, they refuse to lift their spoons.

I think that is one the faces that ignorance can put on. The Christians have this hatred feeling against Jews because they think that Judas was to blame for the dead of Jesus. Lots of ignorance, people think that Jews are those who follow Judas, they don´t have a clue on what Judaism really is, all they care about is to find a scapegoat. My question is, if Jesus wouldn´t have been crucified, would he have become the symbol he is today? I mean, he knew for certain that he had to find someone to betray him and hand him to Kaifas, that was God´s plan, wasn´t it? so, is there really someone to blame?

Jews have long been history's scapegoats. There's always someone who wants to blame the world's problems on the Jews. Jews are supposed to be "God's chosen people". Once in a while, I wish he'd choose someone else.

this question has been asked and answered a number of times on the site; typical views are: it's traditional, based on their having "killed" christ--the simplistic mel gibson approach for the intellectually challenged. then a slightly more psychologically complex scenario--those with well deserved low self esteem based on their inherent mediocrity dislike a group who, though exceedingly small in number, hold a hugely disproportionate share of the limelight because of their successes in all areas of human endeavor. and then there are those, who again because of dysfunction, just need people to hate for a variety of pathological reasons. the usual spectrum of human foulness, eh? there are undoubtedly other "reasons", but these seem to be the more popular ones. :-)

Why do people use antisemitic to refer to Jews?

Because when you have a discreet insular group of people who believe differently, they make perfect targets. Especially when so many members of that group are successful at their chosen professions.

They make a perfect target and scapegoat. And have for almost a century

Racist? I don't consider Jews a race.

Really, everybody is discriminated against for some reason or another. I think really it has little to do with race, color, or creed and more to do with the perpetrator scapegoating negative emotions onto someone who is obviously different in some way. I think if people learn to love themselves, flaws and all, then they will love others.
