was you lawn seeded or turfed, if you have a lot of water and your lawn has a camber,ie slopes way at the sides there is a tendancy fot the lawn to appear raised at the edges, or it was not levelled correctly when first laid of it could be subsidence,but you would notice that a lot more readily.
to treat a severely cambered lawn you will need to returf an fill in the shallow spots or lift the turf and with a sharp flat spade take off the excess around the edges ,use a flat plank to get a level lawn,bear in mind that if your drainage is poor a good forking will help to knit the turves back together stay off the lawn until it is knitted together,hope this helps regards LF

more water at the edges as water sinks through open earth (ie a flower bed) easier than through grass. use a strimmer or buy some astroturf!

You must have newly laid sod. Push it back down and keep it watered and it will be fine
