I love my parents more then anything i this world, I still live at home. I am an adult now, no longer in school, and working full time. I pay for everything I get, and help out around the house whenever I get the chance. I am in a serious relationship and they never had a problem with this. Now they are forbidding me to spend time with him, for no reason. This is not unusual, having done the same thing to an older sibling of mine. I have tried to talk to them and have them see what they are asking is unfare, pretty much killing our relationship. They do not realize how this is also affecting my relationshio with them, which has always been good. This is why I have been having a hard time desiding if moving out is the best option. Everytime i try and talk to them, they never execpt what I am saying and will not listen, and are still overly-protective, and stubbern. I would greatly appreciate any advice and thank you.

I am not plaining on moving in with him. My parents get along very well with him and tell me how much they like him. And I thought at first they were lying and don't like him, but with them doing the same thing to their other kids I don't think its that

You can't let your parents live, grow, and make mistakes for you. It's time to kiss mommy and daddy good bye and get you own place. You need you own privacy and in the end it will all work out. Stay close to them by moving out. If you stay there, they won't let you grow up and the relationship will deteriorate. Don't let them know until you have found a place and are ready to move just to keep the peace while you are there. God bless you. Peace.

Sounds like your parents have an inability to let go. They have done this to your detriment and now you are developmentally retarded by them. You are not experiencing normal growth at this time mentally. Normal parents can offer advice, without the need to control their adult children. Maybe they just really want you to move out? Maybe you should. Don't, please don't just move in with this guy tho....that's inviting a whole nother kettle of fish.

As long as you live with your parents you pretty much are still under their "rules". I as a parent relaized that my son, who's 1 years old, will always be my baby no matter how old he gets. If they do'nt like your BF, ask them why... maybe they have a pretty good reason?? If it cannot be worked out, then maybe is better that you live alone. BUt remember man will come and go, but your parents will always be there.

Well as you said, "you are an adult now, no longer in school, work full time and pay for everything you get..." If i was in your situation, i would move out, cause if you stay there, they will not respect you and who you date.

You are an adult. They still look at it as their house their rules. You need to move out. NOT in with your boyfriend, but get a place of your own.

Honey, it is time to move. When you are out of school, working full time and in a relationship, you are old enough to have your own apartment.

I think your parents are just having a hard time letting go. So, even though they may like him and you are making good choices in life, they feel that they still have a say, even though they don't.
