That's so interesting that you asked that.

When friends describe me, they say I'm extroverted because I'm mostly outgoing and like to meet people.

However, I consider myself introverted.

Here's why. Although in small groups (with friends) or even smaller groups (of nonfriends), I'm pretty comfortable chatting. When we get into larger social situations, I usually take a back seat and just observe. For some reason, I'm not as interested or as comfortable being the life of the party. But with just a few people, I can go on for hours.

Thanks for asking!

I am an introvert. Interestingly, this doesn't always mean a person is shy or doesn't like to be around people. It mostly means that we do not think out loud and that anything we say is carefully considered. We also prefer communicating by email because we can think about what we are saying before we say it. I am able to be very extroverted at work, but it is not how I am most comfortable. It is difficult for introverts and extroverts to work together, because extroverts tend to want to talk about everything, and introverts feel uncomfortable doing that sometimes. Extroverts often feel that introverts do not want to answer questions because we take longer to answer them.
I enjoy working with the different personality types and determining why people may be communicating the way they do. This is one of the most important ways to build relationships both at work and in one's personal life.

An extrovert is energized from being around people. Introverts get a bad rap and have the reputation of not liking people...an introvert expends more energy than they get from being around people. Introvert here...love people but not the b.s.

It depends on the situation. In most work-related incidents, I tend to be extroverted. But in many social situations, I'm introverted. My confidence levels differ from professional to personal.
