Yes just run a bypass
Run a buypass just follow the hose where it comes out of the block and enters the heatercors, and reroute it back to the engine.
Thisway the water comes out of the block and goes back in bypassing the heatercore

Hope this helps

Does not sound like the heater core. If you have smoke comming out of the vents STOP DRIVING THE CAR!!! You may have an electrical problem that causes the smoking and it could cause a fire

sounds like you have a short...but if you have a bad heater core you can bypass it by connecting the heater hoses..until you can get it fixed...you can by the connector at the local parts store for a few bucks

yes you can if you plug heater hoses. take hoses loose and put in piece of tubing (pipe) and clamp .If you don't you will continue to lose anti freeze.

It's driveable, but I don't think the fumes are good for you to breathe.
